Teaching / Learning is exploration

Good questions
are a place to begin.

From a first software abstraction to a new research question: courses in programming, cybersecurity, decentralized systems and graduate computing research.

The approach

Understand it.
Try it. Question it.

I like teaching that moves between an idea and something you can investigate: a paper to question, a program to build, or a system whose behavior needs explaining.

I value patient questions, clear explanations, and the confidence that grows from testing an idea for yourself.

Four ways into computing systems.

Ideas, practice, and a course home for each.

Beyond the lecture

A question of your own.

Independent study and mentored research give students room to move from reading the work to shaping a question, investigating it, and explaining what they find.
